Description
Tornado, which often kills people and damages buildings, is an extremely local wind disturbance occurring all over Japan. To forecast the tornado disaster and to reduce its damage, it is necessary to understand the flow characteristics of tornado and to clarify the transient wind load and to estimate the motions of flying debris under tornado. However, it is very difficult to observe the real tornado directly. Therefore, it is important to produce tornado-like flow experimentally and to control its flow properties. In this study, the tornado simulator, which can reprodure the tornado-like flow by using of multi-fan and multi-vane, was developed. Using this simulator, the movement of the vortex center of tornado-like flow was investigated in several inlet conditions. Moreover, LES analysis for the flow field in the tornado simulator used here was carried out.<br>
