Description
We consider the inverse scattering problem by an obstacle for the Maxwell equations in the inhomogenious exterior domain. We investigete the problem from mathematical view point, by following the theory of Lax and Phillips. Scattering theory of Lax and Phillips compares the asymptotic behabvior as the time tends to minus infinity with its ssymptotic behavior as the time tends to plus infinity, and determines the shape and location of the obstacle from the comparison of the behavior. For this problem, We prove the uiqueness of the shape and location of the obstacle and obtain a representation of the convex hull of the obstacle.
