Description
The oxidizing power of hydrogen peroxide is used to sterilize a variety of objects such as titanium implants. In the previous study, the polarization curves of titanium and titanium alloy showed that hydrogen peroxide (>0.3 mM) in the presence of dissolved oxygen was reduced in the potential range for reduction of oxygen. This indicates that hydrogen peroxide at a low concentration of 0.3 mM can work as an oxidizer. In this report, we examined the relation between the dissociation of phosphate ions and the shoulder observed at a potential about -0.9 V(SCE) in the polarization curves.
