Abstract

A hypothesis of associated flow has been generally applied to elastoplastic constitutive equations for determining irreversible plastic flow emerged in an outward normal direction to yield loci. However, some of plasticity models possess intersection corners, leading to the difficulty to determine plastic flow. This paper concerned the implementation to accommodate the problem encountered to Mohr-Coulomb model using evolution of flow rule extended by Koiter (1953, 1960) and the general approach advocated in Simo, Kennedy and Govindjee (1988). Consequently, the incremental plastic strain and stress vectors can be evaluated.
