Description

In this study, as new designed beam-to-column connections, here, beam-to-column connections whose plates have lower value of width-thickness ratio parameter are considered. In order to verify the elasto-plastic performance of them, cyclic loading tests and FEM analysis on the T-shaped model specimens were carried out. In this study, the influence of the difference of stiffening methods of shear panels and also the effect of the change of plate thickness by considering shear lag phenomenon or not were considered. As a result, it came to be clear that the difference of stiffening methods of shear panels affects damage modes of beam-to-column connections and the strength, and that the shear lag phenomenon doesn't affect the ductility of beam-to-column. Furthermore, it was found that by FEM analysis considering cyclic hardening of steels, the damage modes and the strength and the ductility of beam-to-column connections can be traced.
