抄録

Uplift pressures on a platform of wharf stiffed by ribs are investigated in a wave tank. It is found that the uplift pressure depends greatly on the three following factors: the water impact on the platform, the compression of air entrapped in the compartment separeted by ribs beneath the platform, and the leakage of the compressed air. By taking the three factors into account, a numerical model for predicting the uplift pressure is proposed. The predicted uplift pressure represents fairly well the measured pressure.
