Abstract
The energy optimization of sludge treatment system with energy recycle is discussed here using a steady-state energy balance model and optimization technique.<br>Using energy balance simulation algorithm considering autogeneous condition in incinerator and total system steam balance, we showed energy saving of drying-incineration system. And we formulated the energy optimization design problem and got a solution using a Lagrangian multiplier method. From these optimizing results we found that relative advantages of anaerobic digestion are much effected by sludge solid concentration and that in some sludge concentration there is a trade-off relationship between oil consumption and electricity generation.
