In the case of construction of structures with large plain scale on the ground composed of embedded fill-soil layers on hilly areas, dynamic behavior of structures depends on effects of the local amplification and the soil-structure interaction. These properties must be well known to discuss the safety of structures during earthquakes, but effects of the local amplification of the ground and the dynamic interaction are not very much understood. In this paper, observations were made on microtremors attached to the ground and to the floor of three and four story buildings, which were constructed across the filled valley, for each step of construction. And effects of topographic irregularity of the ground on these observation were understood. Recorded data are discussed by spectral analysis. Obtained results are summarized as follows; (1) The ground vibration has single predominant frequency which is almost decided on maximum thickness of the fill layer in the ground. And amplitude of the ground vibration is corresponded to thickness of the fill layer. (2) The more the number of floors of structure increases (by decrement of predominant frequency of the structure), the duller the dynamic interaction between soil and structure becomes. (3) The local amplification effect of the ground after construction is shown along the valley direction. And it is remarkable in the structure with one end within the filled valley, compared with the structure across it.
