Description

The Japanese Commission began exhibiting photo-murals at international expositions at the 1937 `Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne de Paris'. Subsequently, the photo-mural was considered an important visual media for Japanese cultural propaganda at such expositions. <BR> This paper presents a study of Japanese photo-murals at three International Exposition: the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne de Paris,1937; New York World's Fair,1939; and the Golden Gate International Exposition,1940.
