Description
The preparation of the high silica glass with high ultraviolet transmission is reported. The alkali borosilicate glass with a little of oxidizing agent was phase separated and the impurity of the Fe ion in the SiO2-rich phase was decreased.The high silica glass thus obtained after acid-treated was sintered and the glass sintered exhibited an excellent transmittance up to the 185nm. The preparing procedure and effect of the oxidizing agent were investigated.
