Description
Titania is attracted attention as the material that has high refractive index. Then polymer nano-composite comprising titania particles have been tried to synthesize by many researchers. However, titania particles have a big problem that polymer is attacked and decomposed by its photo-catalysis when composite was made. Then, we first tried to form a core-shell titania particle coated by alumina in order to form a polymer nano-composite with high refractive index. We successfully synthesized titania particles coated with alumina using sol-gel process. The reduction of photo-catalysis effect was observed by comparing the photo-catalysis property between titania particles and core-shell composite particles.
