Description
Various phosphate-supported Pt catalysts (Pt/AlPO4, CePO4, Mg2P2O7, SnP2O7, TiP2O7, Zn3(PO4)2) were prepared and their NOx reduction activity with hydrogen (H2-SCR) was investigated from the viewpoint of solid acidity of supports. NH3-temperature programmed desorption spectra indicate that moderate solid acidity is favorable to obtain good NOx reduction activity. Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTs) for the Pt/AlPO4 catalysts revealed that ammonia having good reducing ability against NOx adsorbed on Brønsted acid sites as an intermediate. The above phosphates with moderate solid acidity work as an ammonia reservoir.
