Description
Infrared absorption spectra of silicate, borate and borosilicate glass melts around 3000 cm-1 were measured up to 1100 °C. A strong absorption band at wave number range from 2000 to 3000 cm-1 appeared by the addition B2O3 to silicate glass. This would be the origin of the large differences of infrared absorption between window glass and E glass.
