This paper aims to clarify the requisites for farmers to have intentions to lend their farmland for allotment gardens. A questionnaire survey for farmers was carried out in Nasushiobara City and Otawara City in Tochigi Prefecuture. The main findings were as follows: 1)Fifty seven percent of the respondents had not knowledge of the green tourism, and 63 % indicated negative intention to promote the green tourism. 2)About 40 % showed latent intention of lending their farmland for allotment garden. 3)The important requisites were good maintenance of the land during the lending period, adequate rental fee, and mediation of public organizations.
