Abstract

<p>This research focuses on the example of the Nepal Gorka Earthquake, the first large scale disaster after Sendai World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, and considers government support and systems toward increased safety in housing reconstruction, as well as information from a field survey on the actual conditions of residents' housing reconstruction. Current Nepal Government housing recovery policy provides for a standard amount of support for owner-driven housing. However, for residents without money or access to land, rebuilding is more difficult.</p>
