Description

It is one of the major aims of JAWE to reduce wind-induced disasters. The research committee of wind-induced disaster, which initiated in 1998, takes a role to conduct this aim. The present article summarizes the activities of this committee. The article includes that: a long list of wind-induced disasters which the committee members investigated as well as their social contribution activities. The initial plans are compared to the present achievements in the information network system of the committee, the acquirement of wind data, the instruction manuals for the field investigation, the financial backup of JAWE, the international collaboration. This article would provide a material for future direction of the committee.
