Abstract

The nonionic cellulose ether, which is a kind of water soluble polymer, is used for several cement matrices such as plastering porlar, tile portar, self leveling materials, high fluidity concrete, antiwashout underwater concrete, c. i. c.. The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of the molecular weight and concentration of cellulose ether on fresh properties in cement matrix containing cellulose ether. The results obtained were as follows. 1) Fresh properties (such as water retentivity, bleeding, consistency) were affected by molecular weight and concentration of cellulose ether as well as rheological property. 2) From the results on material design method, fresh properties were able to express as a function of the molecular weight of cellulose ether and the concentration.
