Description

This study is about the truss beams composed of under-bowstring prestressed with steel wire tendon. The steel wire tendon needs to pass through the joints of under-bowstring. The separate gusset plate joints enable the steel wire tendon to pass through. The mechanical behaviors of tube-to-through separate gusset plate joints are strongly affected by the effect of stiffener-ring to restrain local deformation and stress concentration. The purpose of this experimental study is to definite the relation between the stiffness of stiffener-ring and stress concentration. It is suggested that the strain ratio of the tube influences the deformation capacity of steel bowstring.
