Abstract
An end–milling process for aluminum alloy lubricated with oil–on–water fog metal working fluid exhibits good performance in point of view of cutting force. This good performance seem to be brought by both good lubrication ability and strong cooling ability. Boundary tension between lubricant and water is significant factor on tool–work lubrication because spreading property of lubricant onto water surface depends on it. The cooling ability is also important to bring out lubricant performance.
