Description
This paper outlines the current progress of measurement standards for vibration at the National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) since 2000. Two systems under development for the national standards are described. Technical features, uncertainty sources of the systems, and the future plan are reported. The AIST is planning to establish four systems until 2006, and to start the calibration services for 0.1 Hz to 10 kHz together with all 4 systems. Up to now, we found that the main uncertainty source of the high frequency range system is disturbance motion of the shaker, and of the very low frequency range system is voltage measurement reliability. Our efforts are directed to the completion of the systems, and to the reduction of the uncertainties.
