Abstract

The paper is a case study on Evaluation of tourist development potential with a focus on Awaji Island. Through investigation of the past research 4 indicators of the envaluation were used. The research was made in an attempt to evalute the tourist development potential in terms of the actual tourist conditions and the trend of tourist development. These were analyzed and evaluated in terms of [Variety] of tourist resource, [Convenience] of transportation, [Capacity] of accommodation, and [Utilizable land space] of existence for the tourist development. By means of quantitative analysis and estimation of the indicators, it has become clear that there is changing of tourist development potential and further that there was no possibility of the potencial in Mihara town as opposed to Sumoto city there was the most possibility for the purpose of the tourist development potential. As a result, the study acquired basic data available for an integrated evaluation of the tourist development potential.
