Abstract

In this study, we surveyed the relationship between elementary school students' or graduates' consciousness toward the big tree in their playground and their experiences with the big tree.Three elementary schools which have just one big tree were chosen from Setagaya, Adachi and Cyuo ward in Tokyo. The results are follows;(1) The students who offten touched the big tree like a shade of the tree, think it the symbol of their school, and also think it need be conserved.(2) The graduates who offten touched the big tree, also think it the symbol of their school and need be conserved. In adition above, they think that touching the big tree give them avaluable opportunity to be touched with a nature.
