Abstract
Tani Buncho was an artist who drew Nihon-meizan-zue, which was a collection of mounatain landscape prints.<BR>We analyzed character of mountains which were Buncho's meizan, and criterion for judgement of “meizan”. The results are as follows.<BR>(1) He selected original “meizan” which he saw really.<BR>(2) He valued angle while he evaluated mountains as “meizan”<BR>So his philosophy for “meizan” was to regard mountains as visual landscape.
