Abstract

To investigate the effects of several attributes on the inducements of parks, six parks were selected based on three attributes of parks which were vegetations, width of area and neighboured traffic conditions. Some parks have dense vegetation and the others have little. These parks ranged from smaller than 1 ha to larger than 10 ha. Some parks were sited by a broad street with frequent traffics. At these parks, the number of visitors were counted and their address were inquired<BR>The neighboured area of parks were divided into concentric zones by the distance from the park. The number of visitors were counted in each radial zone and divided by the number of inhabitants to make inducement rates. These rates were correlated with the distance from the park, and inducement rate curves were obtained. A coefficient and a constant of the curve represent transitions of inducement. A large coefficient indicates wide inducement sphere of park and a la' ge constant indicates strong inducement at neighbouring area.<BR>The effects of attributes were observed as the differences of coefficients among the parks. Large parks have large values and this tendancy was appeared more clealy in vegetated parks.<BR>The effects of neighboured traffic condition were observed as the differences of constants among the directions of each park. A great difference was observed at the directions of each park. A great difference was observed at the direction with frequent street.<BR>
