抄録

The chain polymerization of the 2D floating crystal for the diacetylene monomer 10,12-pentacosadiyn-1-ol physisorbed on the HOPG substrate surface is investigated. The SPM images reveal that the monomers smear over the substrate potential on heating. Further, the linear expansion coefficient of the lattice parameter increases six times due to the excitation of the molecular fluctuation in the 2D floating crystal. By the UV irradiation to the sample surface, we show that the fluctuations characteristic of the 2D crystal proceed the reaction beyond the norm established in the 3D crystal.
