Abstract
Thermal anomaly at the phase transition between N and SmA phases in 7CB-heptane binary system was examined using a highly sensitive differential scanning calorimeter, which was newly constructed in this laboratory. The temperature dependence of heat capacity is compared with that of neat 8CB to see possible differences.
