Description
Optical phase gratings have been produced by using liquid crystal with twisted structure. We investigated two methods; one is polarization hologram recording in azo-dye-doped polymer dissolved liquid crystal composites twist nematic cell, another is using liquid crystal cell with initially periodic orientation. Measurement results and theatrical analysis of diffraction properties indicate that twisted structure of liquid crystal molecules can control the polarization state of the diffraction beam.
