Description
Liquid crystal can be applied to the optical device as an electrically controllable lens. However, there is a problem of the slow response speed in the nematic. We attempt to utilize ferroelectric liquid crystals (FLCs). The transformation of the smectic layer structure has been observed under an electric field, especially very low field in the case of wide cell gap. In this study, we have tried to suppress this transformation by polymer stabilization.
