Abstract

Altitudes of forest line on the northwest slope of Mt. Fuji vary from place to place. And also forest types along forest line vary by places. We examined the cause of these phenomena and found that the ages of eruption of parasite craters achieved important role to decide the altitude forest line and forest types. Distribution of discriminated four forest types correspond to each places of different age of eruption. We also examined soil development of each sites of forests and found different stage of soil development.
