Human Flesh Searching Engine is a special Chinese phenomenon in the informationizationed era. Although it might be possible to be transformed into internet violence, to some extent it still plays an important role in the aspect of supervision by public opinion. Human Flesh Searching Engine is not an isolated societal phenomenon. Rather, it is a holistic social issue which is closely related to ethics, law and politics. This paper will review the phenomenon of Human Flesh Searching Engine and, based on the findings, try to investigate its merits and abuses.
