Abstract

This research group consists of various kinds of researchers who specialize in physical mechanism of extreme events such as typhoons and heavy rain, impact assessment of hydrology and water resources sector, advanced statistical mathematical technique, and so forth. The group aims to share latest information and existing knowledge and to discuss development and use of advanced climate information to support disaster prevention and environmental policy. The group reviewed the current situation of the use and application of climate scenario information on the hydrology and water resources sector and discussed the advanced utilization of advanced climate scenario information, in particular ensemble information, including the uncertain range of the information. Each member of the group summarized the latest researches and held a few workshops to discuss the direction of future research. The group plans to continue the activities by using the ML and meetings.
