Abstract
In 2016, Vietnam was hit by the most affected area due to the combination of low flow, rainfall shortage, and saline intrusion. This study calculated standardized drought indices as Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), Streamflow Drought Index (SDI), and Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) for different time periods of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, And 12 months. Afterwards, the results of as historical drought impacts as the influence, The promising results calculated as SDI-6, SPI-6 (January to June) and the number of hours recording salt concentration higher than 1 ppt for the dry season (January to May) were used to carry regression analysis.
