Description
For determining the total sulphur content in fuel, gravimetric method of Eshk and Parr’s Bomb method have usually been adopted. These methods, however, were quite troublesome and take long time and they also require a skilled operator.<BR>The author, therefore, tried to determine it by combustion method just like the case of iron and steel samples, and after various experiments, could solve a few problems which came from the fundamental difference lying between the compositions in fuel and those of iron and steel samples. Thus by two-course method, that is, by pre-heating and combusting the samples, the total sulphur content in a sample can be determined quickly, simply and acculately in fifteen minutes. The efficiency of the operation in this kind of analysis was greatly improved.
