地層処分対象TRU廃棄物（地層処分低レベル放射性廃棄物）の処分について，関連技術への理解を深め，安全性を提示することを目的とした説明資料を作成した。現時点で想定される廃棄体の物量・種類を対象とした地層処分の評価概要を紹介するとともに，基本的には高レベル放射性廃棄物と共通の考え方に基づきながら，安全確保の考え方を提示する。
