Description
Radioactive noble gases may be emitted by the accident of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station after the 3.11 earthquake. We purposed to detect any increase of radioactive noble gases by using Quadru-pole mass spectrometer. We preliminary found that the Ar-41, Ar-39, Kr-85 and Xe-133 increased ten times or much higher than those pre-earthquake atmospheric abundances. This increase of radioactive and/or radiogenic (stable) noble gases may be attributed to the explosion of reactor.
