The authors administered 2-methyl-4-amino-5-hydroxy-methylpyrimidine (OMP) and vitamin B_6 into fertile white Leghorn eggs, and conducted histopathological examinations on the liver, kidney and thymus of the chick embryos on the 12th, 15th and 18th day of incubation. The following results were obtained : 1) Findings in the liver : Diffuse fat appearance in the liver cells was noted in the case with OMP on the 12th and 15th day of incubation, which was found to have recovered on the 18th day. Fat appearance was remarkable in the case administered with 3.0mg of OMP, but was hardly recognized in the case received the combined administration of OMP and vitamin B_6. In the case with vitamin B_6,a little intrahepatocellular fat was observed. Moreover, necrobiosis of liver cells and capillary hyperemia were found in the case with OMP. Cell infiltration of lobulus and hypertrophy of Kupffer's cell were considered not to be influenced by the concentration of the drugs given or date of incubation. 2) Findings in the kidney : Hyperemia of glomeruli and regressive changes of epithelia of urinary tubules were observed in the case with OMP. 3) Findings in the thymus : In both cases with OMP and vitamin B_6,anisocytosis, hard staining and nucleus pycnosis, so called thymocytes were observed, though atrophy was not evident.
