Description

We gave ivermectin to 40 patients with scabies and examined the comparative effectiveness and safety between the groups treated after a meal and between meals. The total number of treated cases were 48. This included 8 cases who were treated twice or three times because of recurrences. Ivermectin was given based on the guideline for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Scabies. Combination therapies using 25% benzyl benzoate lotion on the outside of the entire body and freeze medical treatment to a prurigo node were chosen according to the properties and parasitism patterns of each scabies case. The results revealed improved effectiveness rates and decreased relapse rates in the group treated after a meal. Although there were two cases with abnormal blood test data, no clinical side effects were observed.
