抄録

A 60-year-old man visited our hospital for follow-up after polypectomy. He was without any complaints. Colonoscopic examination revealed the head of parasite embeded into the mucosa of bottom of the cecum. It was removed using biopsy forceps and later diagnosed as being a female Trichuris trichiura 30 mm in length.<br> Trichuris trichiura is a common soil helminthiasis widely distributed arround the world, currently the incidence of clinical infection of this parasite is low in Japan. Fourteen cases have been reported in the Japanese literature. They have been removed by colonoscopy.
