Abstract
A large-scale development of new capital city to transfer the province of Jeollanam-do, the southwest of South Korea, is proceeding. A bid of design build called "alternative bid" was organized for the Namchang Bridge placed at the entrance of the city. The authors participated in the project as an adviser of aesthetic design to the consultant company in Korea and took charge of aesthetic design and concept making. We have been considered in the aesthetic design include: 1) Continuity side shape of the main tower and the cable anchor by the curve, 2) Sharp cross-section by the taper and chamfering, 3) Molding to make use of the structural beauty. In this paper, the process of the thinking is described.
