抄録

In this paper the degree of inequality, such as squared coefficient of variation, of couple's earned income (wage and business income) is decomposed by factor components, and the contribution of wife's earned income to the inequality, its interaction effect in combination with husband's earned income etc. are measured about the income through the first and the latter half of 1990s and the first half of 2000s based on the panel data ("Japanese Panel Survey of Consumers" by the Institute for Research on Household Economics). According to the analysis the coefficient of relation between husband's and wife's earned income is not significant and the interaction effect to the inequality is small, so the inequality of couple's earned income reflects the sum of the inequality of husband's earned income and that of wife's. Since the inequality of husband's earned income has spread and that of wife's has also spread except influence by aging, the inequality of couple's earned income has spread.
