Abstract

Elliptic curve cryptography was proposed independently by Koblitz and Miller in 1985. Since then, it has evolved into a powerful tool for new applications. Here, I will survey the evolution of elliptic curve cryptography in terms of three central one-way functions, i.e., scalar multiplication, pairing operation, and isogeny sequence computation, and associated Diffie-Hellman type key exchanges.
