Description

In this study, we have prepared Cu and Zn-loaded carbons (brown coal and activated carbon) and evaluated the catalytic activity of these samples for a methanol synthesis reaction. The results revealed that methanol synthesis activity depended on the types of the carbon support and pretreatment temperature of the CuZn-loaded catalysts. The methanol yield per copper weight of CuZn-loaed activated carbon treated at 550°C was three times higher than that of a commercial catalyt, Cu/Zn/Al2O3.
