説明

As "Hitogata" was entrusted sin and impurity for people's safe, and thrown into a river, Ukifune was characterized as a method of redemption. She was described as "Hitogata" on the whole process of her life, her entrance, birth and growth, marriage to Kaoru and adultery, and suicide. It was Ukifune's life that compiled and modeled all women's grief for life in the story. The author faced the difficulty of woman's life and seeked for the relief by Ukifune's through tragedy.
