Description

A consideration is made on Sensei and His Suicide Note, focusing on the characteristics of the expressions used in it. After K's suicide, especially after "I" married "Ojosan" (Vol. III-Chapter 51), monologues increase in quantity. However, the descriptions found in the book as far as "Vol. III-Chapter 50" are quite different. There is the "opinion" of an "antagonist", though "I", as a young man, cannot hear it well. Then, why can "I" express this "opinion" of an "antagonist" behind his descriptions when he writes the suicide note later? Hence the issue of reminiscence. I call it "mysterious structure of reminiscence and descriptions." "I", who gives the reader an impression of being an egotist by nature, has to overcome something that restricts himself, in order to hear the "opinion" of an "antagonist." I attempt to pursue how "I" could do it -rather than why- by considering the aspects of expresssions of the work.
