Abstract

This is a report of the attempt to have junior high students, who have lost their "dreams", read a work of Bradberry's. Children have dreams about their future. However, when they are old enough to go to junior high school, their dreams change into the reality of being successful in the entrance examinations of senior high schools. These concerns, connected with the reality of the severe competition of entrance exams, never create "dialogues" among the students. It was aliterary work titled Muteki(Foghorn) that opened the hearts of the students who could talk about nothing but principles. Inspired by the dinosaur's solitude and affection in the work, the students began to talk about their unaffected dreams. By getting back the dreams which the students could share, it became possible for them to form dialogues.
