Abstract

Here, as one actually engaged in teaching at university, I will re-consider what is the relation between teaching and researching at university. It has been often said that the sphere of education and that of specialty are different from each other and hard to be compatible. But if teaching can be broadly defined as the process of first going into some unknown field and then analytically unveiling it, it is directly related to activities in specialty. Moreover, it also provides a way to more flexible academic practice at which the twenty-first century education should aim.
