Description
Riichi Yokomitsu conceived the plot of Ryoshu under the influence of the ultrarightist Taiseiyokusan-kai Association which adapted the Shintoistic "misogi" ritual for their idea of body-politics. Indeed, the text was written, inspired by Katsuhiko Kakei's rediscovery of old Shintoism, actually a kind of syncretic fabrication. Kakei's assimilationism is directly reflected in the chapter four of Ryoshu where Catholicism is absorbed into old Shintoism.
