Abstract
Like sports and games, literature has its own rules or ethics. As Sartre suggests after a Kantian fashion, its ethics consists largely of "freedom" and "the power to address the readers." The aim of this essay is to review several important discourses on literature education and discuss the ethical meaning of teaching literature.
