Description
Postmodernist discourses on language in the 1980s were practically based on Saussure's well-known theory that language is a system of difference, but some critics went further and tried to demonstrate the essential anonymity and mobility of language. Drawing on such radical linguistic experiments, this article will show an inherent anonymity and mobility of context. More precisely I will analyze the dynamics in which a context produced from words and phrases both controls and diffuses the signification of a literary text.
