Description
Effects of daily subcutaneous injection of antithyroid agents or thyroxin on change of the level of NAD in mouse liver after intraperitoneal injection of nicotinamide were examined. Injection of 1-methyl-2-mercaptoimidazole, an antithyroid agent, once a day for 2 weeks resulted in higher level of NAD for longer duration. Injection of thyroxin once a day for 8 days gave the contrary results; lower increase of NAD-level after injection of either nicotinamide or NiA. Effects of Some tranquilizers and central nervous system stimulants were also examined. Trifluoperazine, a tranquilizer, gave the similar results to reserpine, higher and longer increase of NAD after NiAA injection.
